FORGOTTEN WINGS. I’m done with my book!

7 Aug

My book.

The rough draft.

It’s done.

Thirty-three chapters, an epilogue, 271 pages, and 174,000 words, and a title later, it’s time to start editing. Projected “edits complete!” date: September 1, 2009. Goal: Trim to 125,000 words and adhere to Self-Editing for Fiction Writers guidelines. Partner in inane pursuit: boyfriend.

Special thanks go out to the people that kept up with me: Sarah, Brian, John, David. (Only one of you is “done” at this point in time, but close enough!)

And thanks go out to the people that read partials: Jocelyn, Alan, Matthew, Alex, and Steve.

This is going to get published.

For real.

Definitely will not happen overnight, but things are going to happen. I can tell. I am proud to stand by this rough draft. (Minus the fact the two Word documents it spans over are full-length novels all by themselves.) Imagine how I’ll feel when I have created what I will call a final copy.
